The Story of My Teeth Wins a Los Angeles Times Book Prize!

The 2016 Los Angeles Times Book Prize for Fiction goes to The Story of My Teeth by Valeria Luiselli! The Los Angeles Times Jacket Copy section reported the news on April 9. The prize honors literary excellence and celebrates the reading community in Los Angeles, and it was awarded on April 9 at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books. This is yet another entry in a long list of accolades for The Story of My Teeth, which was also a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award in Fiction earlier this year. Additionally, the Coffee House Press title was named one of the best books of 2015 by the New York Times, NPR, the Guardian, Publishers Weekly, Kirkus Reviews, BuzzFeed, the Huffington Post, and the San Francisco Chronicle, among others. Translated by Christina MacSweeney, it is currently in the longlist for Three Percent’s 2016 Best Translated Book Awards. Congratulations to Luiselli, MacSweeney, and Coffee House Press!
